About Jimmie Walker
Jimmie, originally from Newellton, Louisiana, has called the Tulsa area home for the past 46 years. With over three decades of experience in the school system, Jimmie has worked as a special education paraprofessional and is currently serving as a special education job coach. His deep passion for working with children stems from his commitment to ensuring that every child has access to the resources they need to succeed in their education.
Family is at the heart of Jimmie’s life. He was married to Debra Walker for 39 years and they are the proud parents of four adult children, six granddaughters, two grandsons, and two great-granddaughters and great-grandsons, he treasures spending time with his loved ones. A true sports enthusiast, Jimmie has coached both girls’ and boys’ basketball for over 30 years, channeling his love for the game into mentoring young athletes. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, playing cards and dominoes, and watching sports. Jimmie’s lifelong dedication to supporting youth and his love for his family and community define his character and commitment.
